From simple bearing change outs to complete rebuilds, Griffin Gear's gearbox engineers and technicians are ready to assist you with a complete rebuild and repair analysis proposal prior to the rebuild. Our state-of-the-art 15,000 sq. ft. reducer repair facility meets OEM clean room requirements for both disassembly and assembly requirements. For maximum control and flexibility, we manufacture our own quality replacement gearing and components in house.

Griffin Gear's engineers developed a superior gearing design platform to help their customers save time and cost. This is achieved by an exacting and modification method to your gearing and gearboxes. This process is not only a simple rebuild, it also is a long-life performance upgrade as well.

Griffin Gear provides portable coordinate measuring machines, hardness testers, and an extensive gearing software library. This equipment allows our engineering staff to provide the following services:

Rebuild your manufacturer's OEM gearing system with high quality replacement gears, shafts, housings, and other related gearing components.

Assist you with any and all gearbox modifications. These modifications can range from the most simplistic ratio changes to complex gearbox upgrades.

Griffin Gear can reverse engineer complete gearbox designs on the fly. This allows Griffin Gear to provide their customers with a complete drop-in replacement gearbox, and get you back up and running saving you on production loss, and down time costs.

Griffin Gear provides fast turnarounds, and adding value by their heat treating capabilities. Griffin Gear’s car-bottomed furnace has the ability to reach temperatures as hot as 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit. This also accommodates parts with large dimensions. The largest dimensions are 16 feet wide by 20 feet long, and 8 feet high.

Griffin Gear adds quality to your specifications according to national standards issued by AWS (American Welding Society). Griffin Gear monitors progress, and tracks progress by using up to 24 thermo-couplings.

Griffen Gear also uses a furnace, fired by a Maxon 3 inch KineMax Burned with 2,400,000 BTU/Hr! The control panel is equipped with a reliable Honeywell Burner, Temperature, and High Limit Control unit. A recording unit is provided by the Honeywell DPR180 with 24 inputs, and comes with a certificate of calibration.

Griffin Gear has an automated, 50-ton capacity segment gear welding workstation. This workstation is also coupled with various welding power supplies, and fabrication tools. This allows Griffin Gear to fabricate a variety of industrial manufacturing equipment, and the equipment components.

Griffin Gear has a a variety of industrial welding equipment. This includes the Lincoln 350 and 400 amp industrial welders. Also in the line-up is an Airco 300 Amp MIG welder. This particular unit is the ideal industrial arc welder for it's power ratings. For heavy industrial applications Griffin uses 600 Amp industrial tig welders.

Griffin Gear's machine tooling includes surface grinders, vertical hones, band saws, drill presses, and stamping presses.

Griffin Gear’s machining capabilities support very large components equipped with horizontal turning capabilities of up to up to 260 feet in length, and a 32 inch swing. Griffin Gear's large Scheiss VBM has the capability to turn 20 foot diameter units! For even larger volume or smaller turning requirements, Griffin's Mori Seiki CNC lathe has the ability to handle these production needs in an effecient, and exact manner.
